ConnectWise Cuts Hosted Pricing

ConnectWise Cuts Hosted Pricing
Posted July 2nd, 2009 by Joe Panettieri

ConnectWise is taking aggressive steps in the hosted software market. The PSA (professional services automation) software provider next week is expected to “officially” announce lower Hosted ConnectWise pricing. But word of the move is already spreading across Twitter. Here are the implications.

The ConnectWise Twitter feed leads readers to a landing page describing the new pricing. Until now, Hosted ConnectWise cost $45 per-user, per-month. ConnectWise is lowing the price to $39-per-user/per-month for a two-user minimum (or a $78-per-month total two-user price). And yes, the discount applies to existing customers - a rare move in the world of technology services.

Joe's posting is yet one of many concerning ConnectWise over that past week or two. Seems like Arnie is making a Full Court Press. Its been said many times by many people that "Arnie won't be happy until he rules the world." or something to that effect... Imagine that, "King Arnie!"

Seriously, competition is fierce in this space. This week alone I was personally contacted by AutoTask, TigerPaw and ConnectWise. They are all very intent on capturing market share. Incidentally, I have to believe that the market they are targeting is a shrinking market. I don't have an figures to support that, but anecdotally, I have to believe that there are few of us SMB IT VARs today than there were last year and certainly fewer than there were the year before that...

I bet that the folks at Microsoft are happy that they did not come to market with their version of a PSA tool. Not to say that they won't. Just seems like the may wait for the economy to improve and for the dust to settle in the current competition. Comments???
